Month In Review

This past month at IYT at Bayside MLK Jr. Academy was a powerful reflection on the connection between daily effort and major milestones. The consistent work of our daily mentorship sessions, focused on academic guidance and personal growth, laid the foundation for a month of celebration. We proudly honored our very first 8th-grade graduating class, marking their successful transition to high school, and looked to the future as our brothers explored new horizons on inspiring college tours to Sacramento State and San José State.

Celebrating Milestones and Future Horizons

This year at IYT at Bayside MLK Jr. Academy, we celebrated our brothers' journeys with two standout experiences. A major highlight was celebrating our very first 8th-grade graduating class! These young men have grown into strong leaders, and honoring their transition to high school was a proud moment for our entire community.

We also looked toward the future with inspiring college tours to Sacramento State and San José State. For many students, this was their first time on a college campus, providing a powerful opportunity to envision themselves as future college students and spark meaningful conversations about their goals.

Workshop Spotlight

The core of our program this year has been the daily "workshop" of mentorship and personal growth. Through consistent one-on-one sessions, our brothers received academic guidance and crucial social-emotional support. These daily check-ins were designed to build trust, help students set goals, and develop positive identities. This ongoing mentorship fostered a powerful culture of accountability, resilience, and brotherhood, providing the foundational skills needed for success.
