Cordova brothers make the most of their flex period with an engaging workshop and focused study hall session.

This past month in IYT, Cordova High brothers experienced a diverse range of workshops. Brothers learned how to garden, the benefits of it and how they can further study it at the collegiate level.

They learned about cognitive dissonance, the way it shows up in our everyday lives and how it can harm us. They also learned skills to overcome the difficulties that cognitive dissonance presents.

We spoke about creating healthy support systems to help us overcome difficulties and why it is important for students to analyze good and bad influences in their lives.

Lastly, during our “Create a Club” workshop students reflected on the times and the need for them to be leaders in their communities. They honed in on ways they could impact their communities and brainstormed clubs they wanted to create on campus to have a deeper impact on their surroundings.

Samuel Streck is a Sophomore at Cordova High School. He is a dedicated brother committed to excellence. He attends study hall every week and often contributes thoughtful answers to conversations. In a recent workshop, Sam shared that if he could create any club it would be one that helps brothers work on their goals after high school, exemplifying his servant heart and willingness to help those around him.
