Sebastian C. chats with military personnel at San Juan High's career day, seeking opportunities for self-discipline and lifelong memories.
This April, IYT students at San Juan School took a significant step towards their futures by participating in an insightful on-campus career day. As graduation approaches, the prospect of adulthood becomes increasingly real, and while the "real world" can seem daunting, events like this empower our young men to face the future with greater confidence.
Our brothers seized the opportunity to actively network with professionals from a diverse range of industries, including the military, trade schools, real estate, and education. This exposure is crucial, helping our young scholars envision their potential and the many paths available to make an impact through hard work, dedication, and service. The career day truly opened a world of possibilities.
Jerome Wyatt explores skilled trade options, including HVAC, with the Sacramento Job Corps team.
A perfect example of this exploration in action was Brother Jerome Wyatt. Initially interested in hands-on careers like welding, Jerome (pictured engaging with the recruitment team from Sacramento’s Job Corps) had an enlightening conversation that broadened his horizons. After learning more from the Job Corps representatives, he is now thoughtfully considering HVAC as a promising and potentially safer trade. Jerome's experience highlights the direct value of such events in helping students clarify their aspirations and discover new avenues for success.
