This past month at Wilson C. Riles was a heartfelt celebration of our 8th graders and their transition to high school. The festivities began with our own joyful IYT graduation party, where proud families gathered to watch a slideshow of memories and honor our students' growth. Our support for this pivotal moment continued as mentor Jarai Gray attended the official school graduation at Center High, witnessing the culmination of their middle school hard work. This spirit of dedication was perfectly personified by our Brother of the Month, Ti’jier Rice, who was honored for his exemplary commitment and positive leadership as he, too, prepares for his journey to high school.
Celebrating Our Amazing 8th Graders!

What a truly special evening we had celebrating our graduating 8th graders! On May 15th, our cafeteria was transformed into a festive graduation wonderland, filled with proud families and excited siblings, all gathered to honor the incredible achievements of our program members.
The atmosphere was buzzing with joy as everyone enjoyed delicious food and eagerly awaited the main event. The highlight of the evening was a heartfelt presentation, thoughtfully prepared with love, showcasing the journey of each of our 8th graders. Families "ooh-ed" and "ahh-ed" as baby pictures flashed across the screen, along with current photos that highlighted just how much these young individuals have grown and accomplished.

It was a beautiful testament to the hard work, dedication, and spirit of our students, and a wonderful way to acknowledge their transition to high school. Seeing all the families and siblings come together truly underscored the supportive community we've built within our after-school program.
We are incredibly proud of our 8th-grade graduates from IYT and can't wait to see all the amazing things they'll achieve in the future. Congratulations, Class of 2025!

We were thrilled to have Jarai Gray, our dedicated mentor, attend the Wilson C. Riles Middle School graduation celebration, a significant milestone for our graduating 8th graders as they prepare to embark on their high school journey.
Jarai joined the proud families on May 28th in the packed stadium on the football field of Center High School, the very school many of our students will soon call home. It was an inspiring experience to witness the culmination of years of hard work and dedication by the graduating class.

During the ceremony, Jarai had the opportunity to listen to moving speeches from the principal and other school leaders. These addresses were filled with words of wisdom, encouragement, and anticipation for the future, offering a powerful glimpse into the academic environment and spirit our students will soon be a part of.
Having Jarai present at this event not only showed IYT's support for our students' transition but also provided valuable insight into the next chapter of their educational lives. We're extremely proud of all 8th graders from Wilson C. Riles and excited for them to take this big step!

Brother of the Month
Ti’Jier Rice
Incoming 9th Grader
Ti’jier has been an excellent addition to IYT this year. Coming in as a recommendation in the middle of the year. Ti’jier resonated strongly with the message of IYT. He quickly became an exemplary member of our brotherhood by staying out of trouble and keeping his grades up. We couldn't help but make him a junior mentor so that our other brothers knew he was a good example to follow. We are excited to have him at Center High to see all his future growth and achievements.
